So, it is almost time for soccer!   We have a number of items to share with you. 
 

1. Team Rosters - have been provided to our Coaches,  and coaches should be in touch with you soon.  Rosters will be posted and available to parents on Friday. 
2. Communications - Coaches will be reaching out to parents this week to advise of practices, and other key items. 
3. Team Parents -  Being a Team Parent is a Great Way to Volunteer! Get involved with your child's team, become the team parent! Each team needs someone to volunteer for this position. Having a team parent allows coaches to focus on coaching. The Team Parent provides players and parents with the information they need throughout the soccer season. The different jobs don’t have to be done by you alone, ask other players’ parents to help you. Key activities: game reminders, arranging snack schedule, etc.  Sign up to volunteer on our website http://ayso1089.org
4. Equipment -  all players are required to have shin guards, appropriate footwear (sneakers or soccer cleats), and a soccer ball (6U & 8U - size 3;  10U & 12U - size 4; 13U+ - size 5)
5. GameChanger Team Manager -  a new mobile app is available to assist with interacting with your team for texts, sharing pictures, etc.    You can download the app from your favorite App Store, and create logon using the email associated with your AYSO account. Then you simply import your team.  
6. Uniforms - will be provided to coaches following Season Opening Parade. 
7. Season Opening Parade -  will be on Saturday, September 8th.  Please meet us at the Leonia Middle School by 8:30am for a short walk to Wood Park.  
8. Let the Games Begin! -  games will begin on Saturday, September 15.   You can reference the schedule on our website http://ayso1089.org to find date and time of your games. 
9. Parking at Sylvan -  parking is limited at the field, we ask you not park in the yellow no parking zones or on the driveway--it is hazardous.   Parking is available at the Leonia Swim Club and it is a short walk behind the church to the field. 
10. Volunteers - AYSO is an all volunteer organization, and we always need help.  If you would like to support by volunteering simply complete volunteer form on the website http://ayso1089.org.   Current open board positions are treasurer, assistant coach administrator, picture day coordinator, fundraising planner, equipment manager.
