James Island Cup (Charleston, SC)

Champion U16 Gold Girls

Congrats to Coach Harrell and his U16 Gold Girls attended the James Island Cup in Charleston, SC, November 21-22 and came away Undefeated Champions for the weekend. They held their opponents to only 2 goals in 4 games gaining the Championship with a 4-1victory over the U16 Augusta Bull Girls.

Athens

Champion U10 Girls Silver

Congrats to coach Morris and her U10 Girls Silver who won the Athens Finale Tournament. They went 3 wins, 0 losses and 1 tie and outscored opponents 24-7 in the 4 games. Including 3-2 over NASA and 8-1 over Concorde. NASA they were down 2-0 with 10 minutes to go and scored 3 straight to set up the 4th game and an 8-1 win over Concorde to win the championship.

Super Y

Finalist U12 Girls Super Y

The Atlanta Fire United U12 girls faced off against WAZA FC East from Michigan in the Super Y League Finals Championship on Tuesday. WAZA entered the match with a 14-0 record (10-0 league, 4-0 Finals) on an impressive 62 goals scored while AFU came in with a 13-1 record (9-1 league, 4-0 Finals) on 35 goals. WAZA scored two 1st Half goals handing AFU their first earned goals against of the tournament. WAZA held off a spirited attack from our AFU girls in the 2nd half to win back-to-back U12 age group titles with a 2-0 win.

Disney Tournament (Orlando, FL)

Champion U13 Elite Black Girls

The Atlanta Fire United U13 Elite Black girls soccer team won the finals of the Disney Jr. Soccer Showcase in the U13 Championship Division. The girls breezed through the Group stage beating teams from Florida and South Carolina as well as SSA from Atlanta, outscoring their opponents 14-1.In the semifinal match, AFU played a resilient BUSA (AL) team who held off a relentless AFU attack to force overtime. Kendall Page scored the game winning goal with 5 minutes left in overtime to avoid PKs sending the team to the finals against local rival Concorde North Elite.The teams had tied the previous two league games so the Championship was destined to be a tight contest. Jordan Monica broke a scoreless tie with a goal off of a Kyleigh Drew corner kick with 4 minutes left in the first half and the defense held off Concorde to finish the game 1-0. Goalkeeper Kelly Hall had four shutouts over the course of the tournament.

Champion AFU 03/04 Elite Girls

Congratulations to the AFU 03/04 Elite girls team coached by Vince Hayes! The team went undefeated for the regular season scoring 67 goals and allowing only 8 goals against. With 11 shutout games during the regular season and tournaments, the U-12 Elite team had an awesome season! The fall season started out with a bang with the team winning the Atlanta Publix Cup in September. The Elite team scored 22 goals and allowed only 1 goal against for the tournament. The U-12 Elite team also competed in the Disney Junior Soccer Showcase in November. The team went undefeated in the Disney tournament with 4 wins and 1 tie to claim the title CHAMPIONS! To wrap up the season, the team competed in the GSA Puma Tournament on December 5th and 6th. Coach Hayes' team once again went undefeated in their 3 preliminary games including 2 shutout games and a decisive win over TopHat 22 Gold. The final game versus GSA 04 Red was definitely a nail biter! Both teams were scoreless after regulation time and a 10 minute overtime. Unfortunately, the U-12 Elite girls lost 3-4 in PKs to GSA. What a great season! We are so proud of the accomplishments of the AFU U-12 Elite girls team and the awesome leadership of Coach Hayes! We look forward to an exciting Spring season.

Champion U12 Boys Gold

Congratulations to coach Sergio and his U12 Boys who won Atlanta Showdown Tournament. The boys played the new format 9 v 9 and won all of their games.

Generation Adidas Norcross Cup

Congrats! Finalist U13 Elite White Girls

Congratulations to the Elite White GU13 team coached by Hugo Cicamois. The team was finalist on Adidas Generation Cup. They were placed in a bracket with higher rank teams, the girls did a great job making the final. Their record was 2 wins, 1 tie, 1 loss.

Champion U10 Boys Bronze

Congratulations to coach Moe and his Boys U10 Bronze. They are 2015 Generation Adidas Norcross Cup Champions by winning all four games and scoring 23 goals along the way.

GSA

Champion U12 Gold Girls

The U12 girls' gold team won the White Division of the GSA tournament over the December 5th weekend. They defeated GSA 3-2 in the final.

CESA (Greenville, SC)

Champion U10 Gold Girls

Congratulations to Coach Vince and his U10 gold girls team. They were blazing at the CESA tournament in Greenville SC.They walked away undefeated with 2 shut outs, 17 goals scored and 4 against to win the 8V8 championship.

SSA Fall Classic

Champion U9 Gold Girls

Congrats to coach Martin's U9 girls gold team won the SSA fall tournament. They scored 12 goals and only allowed three.

They played great team soccer and ended a fantastic fall season with a championship.

Champion U9 Boys Gold

Congratulations to Coach Trey and his U9 Boys Gold team as they went undefeated to win the SSA Fall Classic held on the weekend of November 21st and 22nd. The boys played some quality soccer in a tough group that saw them beat Chattanooga FC '07 Premier 5-2 in the final. We are so proud of our team!

U8 Girls Champions and U9 Girls Silver Finalist

Congratulations to coach Courtney and her U8 Girls who won the SSA Fall Classic tournament. The girls played terrific against coach Bess's U9 Silver team in the all AFU final.

Congratulations to Coach Dane (Coach Eddie pictured, who coached finals game) and AFU 05/06 Gold finished finalist in the top division at the UFA Fall Classic Tournament.

2015 NASA Boys Classic Tournament Winners

U16 Boys Elite - Champion

Coach Ben Callon and the U16 Elite Black Boys team are the 2015 NASA Classic Champions! Over four games the team showed steady improvement and defeated the U16 NASA Elite team in a very tough and closely contested final game.
CONGRATULATIONS to Coach Ben and the boys.

U15 Boys Elite - Champion

Congratulations to Coach Mirza and the U15 Elite Team for winning the NASA Classic U15 Gold Division. Team went undefeated over four games to claim the tournament trophy.

U12 Boys Elite - Champion

Congrats to Coach Tavani and his U12 Elite Boys NASA Champions! The boys were undefeated in their first three games and went to the finals where they defeated FC Alliance (Tennessee) 11:2.

U12 Boys Gold - Runner Up

Congrats to coach Sergio and his team! The U12 Boys Gold Team ended up second in their bracket at the NASA Tournament. After two wins and a tie they ended up losing against the LSA Sharks in the final.

2015 SSA Summer Classic Tournament Results

U10 Gold Girls - Champions Congratulations to Coach Vince and his U10 gold girls team.They walked away undefeated to win the 6V6 championship against Tophat in the SSA Summer Classic held this weekend August 15th and 16th. They played in a group that along with Tophat, consisted of GSA, UFA and Concorde Fire. The girls did an awesome job and we couldn’t be more proud of their hard work.	U9 Silver Girls - Champions Congratulations Coach Bess and her U9 Silver girls team defeating GSA 07 Academy Black Girls 10:2 in the final and becoming the SSA Champion in their division. The girls tied their first game against Concorde Fire North White 4:4, and went on to win against Lanier Sharks 8:1 and NSA Belles 8:2. This was the first academy tournament for most of the girls, and it was amazing how well the girls worked together as a team - we are so proud of them!
U14 Gold Girls - Champions Congratulations to coach Heather Uhrinek and her AFU Gold 02 Girls team. The girls tied their first game and then won the next two games of group play to advance the finals. They faced off against Concorde Fire North White and were able to walk away with a 4-0 win. The girls are off to a great start for the season and it is clear that all of their hard work is paying off. Congratulations!	U11 Red Boys - Champions Coach Greg Hartley's U11 Red boys team went undefeated this weekend at the SSA tournament winning in the final game, 6 to 1 against the GA Rush White team. On Saturday, the boys won their first game 3-0 against Inter Atlanta FC Silver, the second game was won 6-2 against NASA B'23 Sounders. Sunday morning, they started by playing the SSA Chelsea Copa Black team and defeated them 6-3 to move on to the final game Sunday afternoon! Congratulations to the players and Coach Hartley!
U12 Gold Girls - Runner-Up Congrats to Coach Jeff Becker and his U12 girls gold team. They were the runner-up in the top division of the SSA tournament. They went 3-1 and were the leading scorers in the tournament.	U11 Bronze Boys - Champions Coach Moe's Boys U10 Bronze won the SSA final in the sudden death round of kicks. They were looking for some drama after winning the first three games by an aggregate 21-6. Pinging the crossbar on the first two PKs to go down 2-0, it took four straight goals and three saves by Brendan W. to win it for the U10 Bronze. Congratulations Boys!
U16 Gold Girls - Champions Congratulations to coach Nathan Harrell and his team!	U14 Gold Boys - Runner-Up Congrats to Coach Justin Mathews and his boys on being the runner-up in their division.
U10 Silver Boys - Champions Coach Craig Peter and his U-10 Silver team won the SSA Summer Classic tournament this past weekend against NASA Manchester City. They were down 0-2 after the first few minutes and did not allow another goal, winning by a score of 7-2. They had 24 goals total for the tournament.	U11Silver Boys - Champions Coach Dane Chancey and his U11 silver boys team went 4-0 this weekend at the SSA Summer Classic. Over the four games the boys averaged 5 goals per game while only allowing two goals per game. Great start to the new season!
U13 Silver Boys - Runner-Up Coach Anel Lilic and his U13 Silver team came in 2nd place this weekend at the SSA Summer Classic.

U8 Pre-Academy

Second Place at UFA-Norcross Adi-Elite Cup Tournament

This past weekend the U8 pre-academy girls team made the finals of the UFA-Norcross Adi-Elite Cup tournament. It was their very first tournament as a team. They had to play in a U9 bracket the whole weekend, only facing one other U8 team in four games. In those four games, they compiled 26 goals and only gave up 13. They lost in the finals 3-2, but did a fantastic job, getting better and better every game.
