The U6 In-House League is a structured weekday league designed for players aged 4-5 (Birthdate Range 8/1/2020 - 7/31/2022), focusing on skill development and game understanding through small-sided games. Teams are coached by parent volunteers.

2026 SPRING LEAGUE

The AFU Rec League provides a fun and competitive environment for players aged 6 -18 (birthdate range 8/1/2007 - 7/31/2020) of all skill levels. We focus on skill development, teamwork, and sportsmanship.

U6 JUNIOR FIRE REC LEAGUE

Overview


The U6 Junior Fire program is comprised of U6 players and serves as a bridge to our Traditional Recreational Program. The program will be led by professional and licensed Atlanta Fire staff with an organized curriculum designed to establish a foundation for young soccer players.  Training with the licensed coaching staff will be once a week, while the games will be parent-coach-led.

SUPPLEMENTAL DEVELOPMENTAL PROGRAMS

FORGE: TECHNICAL DEVELOPMENT SERIES

Technical Development Series is a skill-focused program designed to bridge the gap between recreational and academy-level play for children aged 7-11 (Birthdate range 8/1/2015 7/31/2019). We focus on enhanced skill development and a more competitive training environment, preparing players for higher levels of soccer. Newly added will be FORGE for GoalKeepers, focused on technical development specific to this position. This is an ADD-ON program, and registration for the regular REC season must be completed separately.



Fee breakdown:

  • GK only $165

Day:  Fridays

  • Field Players Session at 5:30 PM - 6:30 PM
  • Goal Keeper Session at 6:30 PM - 7:30 PM


All sessions will be held at George Pierce Park on the following dates:

IGNITE: PRE-SEASON FUNDAMENTALS CAMP

IGNITE is a 2-day pre-season camp focused on preparing newer Rec players aged 5-11 (Birthdate range: 8/1/2014 - 7/31/2021) for the upcoming recreational season. We focus on skill development and fitness in a fun and engaging environment. This is an ADD-ON program and registration for the regular Rec season must be completed separately.

Here are some common questions about Atlanta Fire United and our soccer programs. If you have more inquiries, feel free to reach out to us.

  • What do registration fees cover?

    Registration fees cover officials, field maintenance, equipment, insurance, and affiliation fees.

  • When does registration open for the Fall 2026 season?

    Registration deadlines: Friday, Jul 24, 2026


    Late registration: after July 24, 2026, a late fee of $25.00 will be applied to the program registration; the registrant might be waitlisted pending roster availability

  • When do practices begin for the Fall 2026 season?

    August 17th, 2026

  • How many practices are there per week?

    Most teams practice twice a week, with younger age groups (U6) practicing once a week.


    Practice schedules are set by our volunteer coaches based on their availability.



  • How many games are played in a season?

    Between 8-10 games.


    Games are primarily played on Saturdays but sometimes Sundays.

  • What if my child cannot attend a practice or a game?

    Please let your Coach know if you have a conflict due things like family plans, medical appointments, etc.


    Soccer is a team sport, so if you are participating in multiple sports in the same season, we ask that you consider the commitment and that you will be able to be present for the majority of games.

  • How are age groups determined?

    Age groups in our recreational program are determined by birth year, in accordance with Georgia Soccer and national youth soccer guidelines. This ensures that players are grouped with others of similar age and developmental stage.

  • Can I request a specific coach?

    Atlanta Fire United Soccer Club does not accept requests for specific coaches, with the exception of if the player's parent is the coach. We prioritize creating balanced teams for the benefit of all players, ensuring a fair and enjoyable experience for everyone.

  • Can I request a buddy for my child to play with?

    During registration you will have a place to list up to ONE friend you'd like your child to play with. These requests will be evaluated and honored if possible but are NOT guaranteed.

    Buddy requests are only considered if the friend is in the same age group and gender. 

  • Can I request a specific practice day?

    During registration, you may indicate ONE day of the week that your player is unable to attend practice. Practice schedules are determined by volunteer coaches. We cannot guarantee specific practice days or times.


    We do our best to align these requests based on availability, and as noted above, only one 'black-out' date can be requested, but is not guaranteed.
