junior academy program information

The AFU Junior Academy Program is for
U6 - U14 Boys and Girls who are Recreational players
and is led by Rec Director Craig Peter.

The Junior Academy Program is for registered Recreational Players that want additional training. The program provides an introduction to our Academy Program where players will receive professional training from our Academy and Select coaches.  We focus on Skill, Technique, Balance, Coordination and Fun in Small Sided Games.

Friday Session times are 6:00 to 7:00

This is a supplemental program available for recreational players who are looking for additional training.
This is not a replacement for our recreational program.

  • Designed for 6 - 13-year-old recreational players desiring additional quality training
  • Challenging training sessions are a key ingredient to the personal development of the player
  • Prepares players for the AFU Academy and Select programs (available for players ages 7+).
  • Purpose of the program is to provide a solid foundation for players who love the game to build upon.
  • Opportunity for additional training from licensed Academy and Select coaches at AFU.
  • Fun activities are designed to maximize comfort with the ball and vision of the field.
  • Each training activity will help players improve technically (skills), tactically (decision-making), physically (fitness) and psychologically (mental toughness).
 

Session Progression

This is what a typical session looks like.

  • Warm-up
  • Technical Activities (dribbling, passing and shooting)
  • Small-sided Games
  • Scrimmages

What to Bring

Your player should come with the following:

  • Soccer Ball
  • Shin Guards
  • Soccer Cleats
  • Plenty of Water
  •  Sunscreen

AFU is now using Total Global Sports as its registration platform. 

PLEASE FOLLOW THE STEPS BELOW TO REGISTER YOUR PLAYER

AT THIS TIME MOBILE DEVICES ARE NOT COMPATIBLE WITH TGS SIGN-UP OR REGISTRATIONS. 
YOU MUST USE A DESKTOP OR LAPTOP COMPUTER TO REGISTER. 
 

STEP 1: You will need a parent account to register your child.
*If you do not have an account you will need to create a parent account first by clicking on:  PARENT ACCOUNT REGISTRATION

Once you have created your PARENT ACCOUNT 

STEP 2: Log into the PLAYER REGISTRATION SIGN IN by clicking on the
**REGISTER NOW button below, when you are signed into the PLAYER REGISTRATION,  follow the steps below: 

Select My Children on the left navigation
Select public program
Select the child you wish to register
Select the program you wish to register your child to *(Traditional Rec Soccer, Kicks for Kiddos, JR Academy)
Follow the prompts and complete all items required by the program
